Christakis Athens Story
Son of a traditional shirt-maker in Constantinople, Christos Triantrafyllidis (best known as Christakis), left his birth town for Athens on 1934. Christakis store was founded at 5 Kriezotou street on 1947 and is still located on the very same building where the famous workshop produces all shirts in the same handmade manner.
From the early days, Christakis’ quality was so apparent that his handmade shirts gained the trust of the most significant personalities of that time.
As the decades went by, his fame grew out of the borders as well, as he was considered to have become an expert on gentlemen’s shirt and clothing in general. Choosing strictly the best fabrics from the best Swiss factories and sawing them with dexterity so that his shirts met his most demanding clients’ high standards, Christakis managed to be the “most well-known shirtmaker in Athens”.
Nowadays, his grandsons Antonis and Christos Niflis, as being the 3rd generation, have taken charge of Christakis’ legacy, as junior cutters. They launched an exclusive atelier for bespoke shirts in the luxurious northern suburb Kifissia. They, also, revived the service of high-quality made-to-measure suits tailoring, made of fabrics imported from famous European brands such as Zegna, Reda, Dormeuil, Holland & Sherry etc.
